Changes to council services over the bank holidays.
The UK 2025 to 2026 bank holidays are:
Most council services are closed on bank holidays, but some services are available for emergencies, such as housing repairs and Adult Social Care.
There is a freephone outside Hove Town Hall on Norton Road, available 24 hours a day, if you have no other way of contacting those services in an emergency.

Brighton Customer Service Centre (Bartholomew Square) and Hove Customer Service Centre (Norton Road) are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4.30pm (except bank holidays). You can drop in to use self-help computers, scanners and telephones to contact council services.
If you need additional support to access council services, the customer service advisors will be able to signpost you to get the help that you need.
Collection days remain the same on bank holidays, apart from over Christmas and New Year.

The Brighton recycling site opens from 9am to 5pm on bank holidays and the Hove site is closed on bank holidays.
