About
Longhill is a seven-form mainstream secondary school. We're proud to be comprehensive, and our motto is 'Determined To Be The Best We Can'.
We always try our best to meet the needs of all our learners. We believe we take good care of our most vulnerable and have a well-respected, successful Learning Support department.
We also have a successful Special Facility for students who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (or Statement) for SpLD (dyslexia), access to which is controlled by the local authority.
Specialist services and expertise available at or accessed by the school
- BHISS - Brighton & Hove Inclusion Support Service, which includes:
- educational psychologists
- family support workers
- primary mental health workers
- specialist SEN teachers
- specialist SEN practitioners
- EALTS (English as an Additional Language and Traveller Service)
- Learning Mentors
- Occupational Therapy
We have a range of specialist provision for supporting our most vulnerable learners, be they challenged or challenging. We have supported and continue to support a range of young people with considerable multi-faceted needs, in a mainstream setting.
We do annual EpiPen training.
We run training to support staff in understanding young people with attachment needs.
