St John's College is a specialist college based in Brighton supporting young people aged 16 to 25.
They prioritise the development of communication, vocational, and independent living skills that our learners need to make a successful transition to adult life. Each learner has a highly personalised study programme, designed to develop the skills, attitudes, and confidence that will support progression to positive outcomes. The college works with learners to develop independence skills and enable them to advocate for themselves through person-centred learning.
St John’s College can offer 38 or 52 week residential placements at one of their residential houses. Each house is registered with Care Quality Commission and undergoes its own individual inspections. Ambitious about Autism is a registered CQC provider.
Integrated Studies course in partnership with Brighton MET
St John's College offer a course created in partnership with Brighton Metropolitan (MET).
The Intergrated Studies course is designed to help young people who need some extra specialist support to succeed in a mainstream college. Learners will have the opportunity to work towards achieving an accreditation in their chosen vocational area
St John's offer supported internships for young people ages 18 to 25 with autism or a related learning difficulty, who want to work in competitive employment.
The unpaid supported internships form part of the intern’s education and equip autistic young people with the skills needed for adulthood and employment.
The programme takes place in a business setting. Learners are totally immersed in the workplace, learning through continuous feedback, and gaining real employability and competitive work skills.
Chartwells Universities internship programme is based at the University of Sussex in Brighton.
Amazon internship programme is based at the Amazon site in Crawley, West Sussex.
