About
Tarnerland Nursery School is for children aged from 9 months to 5 years. It's a maintained nursery school, funded by the Local Education Authority and the council's Children and Families Department.
We work in partnership with Best Start Family Hub Tarner, where health and family support services are available to all families.
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
Specialist services and expertise
Tarnerland Nursery School have qualified teachers with many years of experience working with children with SEN and disabilities.
Their SEN support assistants have received training in identifying and supporting children with speech and language delay. Staff have also participated in Every Child A Talker (ECAT) training.

- Sensory Needs
- English as an Additional Language and Traveller Service (EALTS)
- Health Visiting and Early Years Visitors
Staff working with children aged under 3 years attend training provided by PRESENS, the Pre-school Special Educational Needs Service. All staff are Makaton trained.
