About
Tower House Community Centre specialises in supporting people over 50 living in Brighton & Hove.
It's run by the charity the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) and a range of informal partners that together help us fulfil our vision to support as many older people as possible in the city on their journey into later life.
They aim to help prevent loneliness and social isolation.
They provide:
- a varied timetable of services that support a wide range of over 50s with differing interests and support needs
- a community coffee shop serving reasonably priced fresh coffee, cake and light snacks, anyone of any age is welcome, as are dogs on leads (the coffee shop is open Monday to Wednesday, 9am to 4pm and Thursday and Friday, 9am to 2pm)
- a mini charity shop
- level access throughout the building with fully disabled facilities and limited parking on a first-come, first-served basis
- a salon offering wellbeing clinics in podiatry, massage and nail cutting
- room hire at reasonable rates
- clubs, classes, workshops and sessions, including exercise classes, variety clubs, art classes, quizzes, and much more
- low-cost sessions, with some costing no more than a £1 donation
- services for family/friend carers
- services for people living with dementia
- care navigation services
- meals prepared freshly in the centre’s kitchens
- minibus transport within a catchment area for SVP-hosted clubs (BN1 6, BN1 7 and BN1 8 postal codes broadly)
