Who can can get help
You can get help from the Youth Employment service if you meet all of the following points below.
16 to 18 years old
You can get free help with your career from the Youth Employability Service (YES) if you're
- not in education
- not working
- not in training
- live in Brighton & Hove
16 to 25 years old
We can also help you up to the age of 25 if you:
- have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHC Plan)
- are a young carer or a care leaver
What we do
We can:
- offer guidance appointments
- attend the young person’s annual review from Year 10
- support your EHC plans over the summer months after you've left school, and during the first months of your new course
- write Education Funding Agency (EFA) applications for specialist provision
- act as an expert witness at SEN tribunals
- help you plan for post-school education or training

Our YES Advisors give free and fair advice to help you:
- choose the right career or course
- apply to colleges
- find jobs and apprenticeships
- write your CV and job applications
- get ready for interviews
- join personal development programmes
We work with places that can help you get ready to work, such as:
- volunteering
- employers
- training providers
- schools and colleges
Who we work with
We work closely with the Supported Employment Team.
They help autistic people or people with a learning disability to find and keep a job.
Other ways we can help
We can also help young people get help with things like housing and wellbeing.
