What counts as housing fraud
Housing fraud includes:
- not telling the truth when applying for a property, for example saying you have children when you don't
- subletting a property without permission
- living in a property after someone has died without the right to do so
Anyone caught committing housing fraud is likely to lose their tenancy and may be fined or sent to prison.
