Budding photographers are being invited to grab their cameras, smartphone or iPads and head to Stanmer Park to be in with a chance of winning a fantastic prize!
Celebrating heritage
A photography competition has been launched this week to celebrate the Heritage of Stanmer - Brighton & Hove’s largest city park.
Snappers of all ages, 6 to 12, 13-17 and 18 and over, are encouraged to visit and explore Stanmer and submit photos under the following themes:
- Restored wall garden
- Orchards
- Home Farm
- Water Catcher
- Great Wood
- Gateway to the National Park and Living Coast
Twelve winners will be shortlisted by a panel of judges, including professional photographers, before going on display in the popular park.
The overall winner of The People’s Choice Award, chosen following a public vote, will receive £250 worth of photography vouchers.

Councillor Amy Heley, co-chair of the council’s environment, transport and sustainability committee, said: “With its wonderful woodland, historic features and fabulous restored walled garden, Stanmer Park is a photographer’s dream!
"We hope this competition will encourage visitors to take a fresh look at the park, explore the hidden gems and capture on camera everything that makes Stanmer Park so special.”
The closing date for entries has been extended until 4 November 2022.
