Robert McIntosh elected councillor for Rottingdean Coastal Ward
Following the by-election that took place for Rottingdean Coastal Ward on Thursday 5 May, Returning Officer Geoff Raw confirmed Robert McIntosh, Labour Party candidate, as the ward’s newest councillor.
The votes for each candidate were as follows:
• Libby Darling, Green Party Candidate - 504
• Lynda Hyde, The Conservative Party Candidate – 1,185
• Robert McIntosh, Labour Party – 1,443
• Stewart Stone, Liberal Democrats - 168
• Stephen White, Independent -1,355
• Alison Wright, Independent -222
Voter turn-out for the by-election was 44% with 4,896 votes cast out of a total electorate of 11,124.
The total number of councillors by political group for Brighton & Hove City Council are:
• Green Group - 20
• Labour Group - 16
• Conservative Group - 12
• Independent (not belonging to any political group) - 6
