Forty-nine new council homes at Quay View
Another 49 fantastic new energy-efficient council homes are ready to welcome residents at Quay View in Portslade.
The new homes are the first delivered through the council’s Homes for Brighton & Hove partnership with affordable housing provider, the Hyde Group.
Viewings for the council-rented homes begun this week, with the first tenants expected to move in over the next few weeks.
Truly affordable rents
The council-rented homes are being let at truly affordable social rents to people on the council’s housing register.
The flats are highly energy efficient which will help keep resident’s energy bills low, and there’s also a car club and bicycle share scheme for residents.
Located off Wellington Road in Portslade over-looking Shoreham Harbour, the homes have good public transport links close to bus stops and train stations.
The development has also enabled improvements to the local area, including a new pedestrian link and green corridor.
Homes for Brighton & Hove
The homes are part of the Homes for Brighton & Hove development of 104 one, 2 and 3-bedroom flats, with the other flats shared ownership homes available through Hyde.
Homes for Brighton & Hove was set up to provide much needed low-cost homes for people in the city and is an important part of the council’s ambitious programmes to build new council homes.
The partnership is also building 242 low cost homes in Coldean, which includes a further 127 council-rented homes.
The Coldean development is due to be completed this autumn.
