Results of the Kemptown and Queen’s Park by-elections
By-elections took place to elect new ward councillors in Kemptown and Queen’s Park on Thursday 2 May 2024.
The by-elections were called following the resignation of Chandni Mistry and Bharti Gajjar.
Théresa Ann Mackey (Labour Party) has been elected as councillor for Kemptown and Milla Gauge (Labour Party) has been elected as councillor for Queen’s Park.
Kemptown by-election results
- Robert James Brown, Liberal Democrats – 406 votes
- Gary Farmer, Brighton & Hove Independents – 369 votes
- Jamie Gillespie, Independent candidate – 44 votes
- Théresa Ann Mackey, Labour Party – 1,382 votes
- Josephine Victoria O’Carroll, Conservative Party – 222 votes
- Ricky Perrin, Green Party – 590 votes
The turnout in Kemptown was 34.80%.
Queen’s Park by-election results
- Sunny Choudhury, Conservative Party – 168 votes
- Milla Gauge, Labour Party – 1,241 votes
- Dominique Hall, Liberal Democrats – 67 votes
- Adrian Hart, Brighton & Hove Independents – 449 votes
- Luke Walker, Green Party – 766 votes
The turnout in Queen’s Park was 38.94%.
