Ice cream dream team creates new Rugby World Cup flavours

A trip to the seaside would not be complete without an ice cream and, in Brighton & Hove, we like to go the extra mile to make our visitors feel welcome.

So, with thousands of rugby fans from all over the world set to arrive in the city for the Women’s Rugby World Cup, local ice cream parlour Boho Gelato was determined to mark the historic event in its own unique way. 

The company’s creative ‘ice cream dream team’ has devised some exciting new flavours, inspired by the four teams playing at Brighton & Hove Albion Stadium on September 6 and 7.

Fans can choose from:

🍧 Rose & Raspberry Cream Tea (England)

🍦 Irish Coffee (Ireland)

🍧 Kiwi Pavlova (New Zealand)

🍦 Vegemite Caramel (Australia)

Fans can pop into the parlour in Pool Valley, or try them at the Rugby World Cup Fan Zone in Victoria Gardens, from 4 to 7 September.

Home from home

Council leader Bella Sankey was among the first to try the new creations. 

Councillor Sankey said: “We’ve been working incredibly hard to create a Rugby World Cup experience and Fan Zone that reflects the quirky side of our city and support from businesses like Boho Gelato will help create an unforgettable experience while giving visitors from all nations a little home from home. 

“I want to thank all our local businesses who have embraced this exciting event and I want to pay tribute to our local women and girl rugby players. The city is starting to buzz with World Cup excitement and the countdown starts here!”

Frozen fun!

Seb Cole, owner of Boho Gelato said: "If it wasn’t already exciting enough that we are the host country of the Women’s Rugby World Cup tournament this time, the cherry on the cake is that Brighton & Hove has been chosen as a host city!

“So, we have taken the opportunity to bring a bit of frozen fun to celebrate the games taking place here with our four themed flavours.”
