Description
The building was constructed in 1909 as Portslade Fire Station. The purpose of the building is identified in a plaque above the central arched opening; the date is set to either side. Two further plaques on the building incorporate the seal of the former ‘Portslade by Sea Urban District Council’, which was the local governing body from 1897 to 1974.
