Who we are

Fairlight is an inclusive primary and nursery school where every child is considered as an individual. We are proud of our diverse, inner city catchment and celebrate the unique nature of our school community, this is reflected by the fact we are the home of Ethnic Minority Achievement Service (EMAS). We are a thriving, friendly community school with an attached Children's Centre, which offers access to extended services to the wider community.



As a school we have high expectations in all areas and are committed to individual children reaching their full potential, to achieve this we take a creative approach to learning, considering all learning styles and needs. We provide a supportive, stimulating and fun learning environment that fosters mutual respect for all. We offer a wide range of extended school activities, including a free, healthy breakfast club, offering children opportunities to develop all of their skills, personally, socially and academically.

What training and experience have the staff supporting children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities had or having?

Fairlight is committed to meeting the individual needs of all children with special educational needs and/or disabilities and all staff take pride in belonging to a team that strives for this. We have regular training, both in house and from external agencies, to ensure that we are reflective and creative in our teaching to ensure we are meeting the wide range of needs of our children. We have an experienced Inclusion Support Team, which includes a range of specialist staff who support the children directly but who also offer ongoing support and training to all staff members.
