About this privacy notice
Brighton & Hove City Council has a legal reason for collecting information in this survey. However, the survey does not directly ask for personal or sensitive information (such as details about your health, disability, race or ethnic background, religion, sexual orientation, or political views) and has been designed to be as anonymous as possible.
Because the survey includes free text boxes, you may choose to share personal or sensitive information. Try to avoid including this kind of information, however, if you do share it, it will be anonymised.
The Council is the data controller for purposes of the Data Protection Act (2018) and The General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") and is registered as a data controller with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)Brighton & Hove City council are committed to protecting your personal information. As a data controller we have a responsibility to make sure you know why and how your personal information is being collected in accordance with relevant data protection law.
Purposes and lawful basis of processing
We are collecting your data for the purpose of evaluating the experiences of those who have used the Schools Mental Health Service in Brighton & Hove, to identify gaps and barriers in those services provided by the council and to inform future service provision.
We have lawful basis for processing personal data under legal obligation and performance of a task carried out in the public interest under the:
- Children and Families Act 2014
- the Local Government Act 2013
- Keeping Children Safe in Education Guidance 2016
- SEND Code of Practice 2015.(Data Protection Act 2018 Schedule 3, Part 3, paragraph 8)
We have lawful basis for processing special category data as it is necessary for reasons of health or social care, and substantial public interest. (DPA 2018 Schedule1 Part 1 paragraph 2 (2) (e), Part 2 paragraph 6 and 18; UKGDPR Article 9 paragraph 2 (g) and (h).
Who we will share your data with
Your data will be accessed only by the relevant teams, and any reports produced from the data will be anonymised.
How long we will hold your data (retention)
We will hold the survey data for one year from its submission. It will then be manually deleted.
Transferring data outside the European Economic Area
Your information is not processed outside of the European Economic Area.
