Possability People are a charity committed to helping you make more things possible for you in your life, no matter what your situation. They work with disabled people, older people, younger people or anyone with an impairment or long term health condition. Whether it's helping you find help at home, or giving you moral support or advice, they have the knowledge and expertise to advise you on what's possible. They believe in a society where anything is possible, regardless of ability.
- Advocacy service ? free, confidential and independent issue based advocacy support to adults with a physical and/or sensory impairment, including people who are deaf and hard of hearing. Advocates can help you have a voice, choice and control. They will help you look at your options and give you support.
- Disability Advice Centre ? free independent and confidential advice on disability related matters. ÂThe experienced team of independent advisers are available five days a week. They can talk to you about allowances and benefits, housing, money, debt, assistive equipment, grants or local groups. They meet the Advice Quality Standard.
- Benefits support ? free, independent and confidential appointments to support with welfare.
- Continuing Independence Service - help you look at all the options to stay healthy, independent and at home. Whether it's helping you find more support and help around the house or garden or simply someone to help you go shopping, they can help.ÂThey can talk to you about direct payments (money from health or social services to spend on your own care and support), and we can help you find a personal assistant.ÂThey can also help you if you pay for your own care and support.
- Direct payments Support Service ? allowing you to plan and manage your own support by receiving funding from the council to buy services or employ people to support you in everyday life
- Payroll ? specialist payroll service helps people who have their own care staff, including people who pay for it themselves. It also provides payroll services for people who run small businesses
- Supported bank accounts ? help and support for people using direct payments to manage their supported account by providing help and guidance to manage their paperwork and bills
- Counselling ? low cost, confidential, independent and accessible counselling service for disabled people, their families, friends and carers. Their councillors will offer you space and time to allow you to talk things through, express your feelings and think about how to move on.
- PA Noticeboard ? a jobs board helping people find personal assistants and Personal Assistants find jobs.
- The Possability Rooms (formerly Space for Change) is an accessible venue available for hire. It is adaptable to meet the needs of both large and small groups and offers a versatile space for more intimate meetings, presentations, drinks receptions, training sessions and similar events.
