Paying for community services including home care
What you might need to pay, how to pay and what happens if you do not pay.
What you might be expected to pay
We'll use the information you provide to calculate your contribution. We'll send you written confirmation of the charge you have been assessed to pay.
How to pay
Homecare and other community support
In most cases, your home care agency will invoice you directly. However in some cases the council will send you a bill monthly, in arrears.
Direct payments
People who receive Direct Payments to fund care, will have their assessed charge deducted from their payments and you will need to sign a contract agreeing to pay the charge into your direct payment account
Other charges
In addition to your assessed charge, there are separate fixed charges for council funded transport at £5.10 per return journey
Council services
In certain circumstances the council provides services. How much you pay for these services is dependent on the outcome of your financial assessment.
Council managed:
- home care is charged at £33 per hour for each carer
- day care is charged at £50 per day
