Carden Primary School is an urban, community primary school. The school serves the Hollingbury area, though we have pupils and families from a wide range of areas and backgrounds. We're proud of our cultural diversity.

All staff have a good working knowledge of Makaton signing, and most school signs have corresponding Makaton signs used alongside them.
We have specially trained teaching assistants working with children on a one-to-one and group basis, carrying out maths, reading, speaking and listening interventions.
We have learning mentors who offer social, emotional and behavioural support.
We have individual needs assistants trained to support children with particular needs.
All staff receive training in all areas of SEND, as appropriate. Staff have also received training on autism spectrum conditions and speech and language vocabulary training.
