What you'll need to become a chaperone
To become a registered chaperone with Brighton & Hove City Council, you need to:
- live and pay Council Tax in the city
- apply for online learning training
- complete an in-person ID check at Hove Town Hall
DBS check
If you have an existing enhanced DBS (within the last 3 years) and/or you're on the DBS update service, send an email to the Children in entertainment and employment licensing team before you make a payment, as the fee will be different for a volunteer chaperone licence.
If you do not have a DBS, search for a volunteer chaperone licence or a professional chaperone licence in the search box on the payment page.
Apply to become a child chaperone
Use this form to apply for online training to become a:
- volunteer chaperone
- professional chaperone
When you have completed the form, you'll be directed to our online payment page to pay for the course.
Enter your details, then add to the basket. You can then pay using your debit or credit card details. This payment covers the cost of completing an online DBS check as part of your application.
