Brighton & Hove's Safeguarding Children Partnership
The Brighton & Hove Safeguarding Children Partnership (BHSCP) brings together the key agencies in the city to help keep children, young people and their families safe.
In response to Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023), our partners – Brighton & Hove City Council, NHS Sussex, and Sussex Police – published local Multi Agency Safeguarding Arrangements for Children and Young People in Brighton & Hove.
It details how the Partnership will:
- work together to identify and respond to the needs of children in the area
- commission and publish local child safeguarding practice reviews
- make sure the effectiveness of the arrangements are independently scrutinised
To keep children safe from harm, it's important that the workforce of practitioners and managers in Brighton & Hove, including volunteers and those who work in faith settings, are fully informed and understand the national and local child protection procedures.
Children are best protected when there is a culture of well-coordinated multi-agency working and information sharing.
