Foodie recipes and experiments

Help your children get hands on with food.

We have lots of quick and tasty recipes or fascinating foodie experiments. They’re a great way to help develop a positive relationship with food, through taste, touch and smell.

We always love to see your efforts, so encourage you to post a picture of your efforts on Facebook or Twitter using #Foodie @BrightonHoveCC

Give the activities a go

The Public Health Schools and Holiday Activities and Food teams used five themes to design some activities to support nutritional and food education. These are all championed by a different food as follows:

  • how to be sugar smart - apples
  • growing things - carrots
  • eating a breakfast of champions - oats
  • eating your 5-a-day - beetroots
  • how to reduce food waste - peppers
