Call for Seafront Development Board members to help shape the future of this iconic asset.
Brighton & Hove City Council seeks members to join an independent Seafront Development Board to help shape a vision and encourage investment in Brighton's treasured seafront.
The Rt Hon Lord Bassam of Brighton will chair a new Seafront Development Board, bringing his experience as a previous council leader, member of the House of Lords, and recent chair of a parliamentary select committee on the Regeneration of Seaside Towns.

Developing a vision for the seafront
The Board aims to include broad representation from residents and businesses to develop a vision and drive forward plans to improve the seafront.
The Board will:
- consider the areas and infrastructure around the seafront
- make connections with businesses and other developments
- learn from other seafront towns and cities
The skills and experience you’ll need
We're looking for board members with a range of skills and experience including:
- expertise in business, tourism or culture
- an interest in the seafront (for example owning a key asset)
- expertise in urban design or another relevant specialism
- representing a particular interest or group
To get involved and help Brighton & Hove's seafront become even more special, apply to join the Seafront Development Board. Becoming a board member will involve:
- attending up to 4 meetings per year
- reading relevant background materials
- attending other events such as site visits and openings
We ask for a commitment of at least one year.
