Have your say on physical activity, sport and exercise opportunities in the city
We’ve launched a citywide consultation to find out how we can better support people in Brighton & Hove to move more and enjoy being active for life.
Over the next three months we want to hear the experiences of people who live, work or study in the city. What helps you to move more, and what stops you?
We want to find out people’s attitudes, the types of opportunities you would like to see and what support you need to become more active.
By the end of July, we’d like to give everyone the opportunity to have their say through our sport and physical activity consultation – Let’s talk: Active for Life.
We will use your views from the online survey and other engagement events to create a Brighton & Hove Sport & Physical Activity Strategy.
Alistair Hill, Director of Public Health at Brighton & Hove City Council said:
“Being active has a positive impact on your physical and mental wellbeing.
“It isn’t just about playing sports. It’s also about going for a walk with a friend, cycling to work, digging your garden, playing with friends in the playground or dancing at a birthday party.
“It’s also just as crucial to hear from those who aren’t currently very active.
“Brighton & Hove provides a unique environment for people to be active and we want to find out what you think would make it better in the future.
“We want to hear from as many as residents as possible, so we get the real picture of the city and make plans to make it a more active place to live for all.
“It’s really important to us that we get this right. Please complete the survey, join the discussion online, or talk to the team at events across the city so your opinions can be included.”
The consultation focuses on people’s current experience of being active, the sport & physical activity offer in the city, the impact of the pandemic, and what would help them to be more active.
Get involved and have your say
This is the start of a three-month citywide consultation. As well as completing the online survey and discussions there will be opportunities for you to talk to the team at events taking place across the city.
