Work to transform Saltdean's Multi-Use Games Area starting soon
Work starts on Monday 28 July to improve and update the Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) at Saltdean Park.
It had initially been due to start on Monday 21 July, but will now start one week later.
The work is being carried out as part of the our city-wide Playground Refurbishment Programme and is expected to take around 3 weeks to complete.
Consultation
Designs for the improvements were drawn up following consultation with members of the Local Action Team, Saltdean Residents Society and the PARC charity.
Residents were also invited to share their views by taking part in an online survey.
The work is being funded by section 106 developer contributions, along with contributions from the local community, including the PARC charity and Local Action Team.
Extremely popular
Councillor Alan Robins, Cabinet member for sport, recreation and libraries, said: “The Saltdean MUGA is extremely popular, so we are delighted that refurbishment work is beginning.
“By working closely with the local community, we have been able to design an updated facility that meets the needs of residents, both now and in the future.
“I look forward to seeing the finished result.”
While work is carried out, residents can use the Connor’s Court MUGA at Undercliff Walk, Rottingdean.
