Popular footpath re-opens
The popular footpath from Coldean into Stanmer Park has re-opened this week, delighting local walkers.
The footpath, which runs from Coldean Lane A270 junction, opposite the Ruby pub up to the footbridge over the A27 and into Stanmer Park, has been transformed over the past four weeks, with wider paths and a safer surface.
The project was funded with a grant from the South Downs National Park Authority.
Safer and more accessible
The new footpath has been constructed by installing a grid system with an overlay of stone and grit, creating a safer, less slippery surface, particularly during wet weather, on the steeper sections of the route.
Councillor Alan Robins, Cabinet Member for Sport, Recreation and Libraries, said: “We know how well used this path by local residents and park users, so it’s great that’s it’s now safer and more accessible for everyone to enjoy.”
