Get copies of building regulations documents and history

How to get copies of documents or request a history search of a property, and how much it costs.

Request documents and costs

You can ask for a copy of a Building Regulations Completion Certificate or plans approval.

Please email your request to planning.applications@brighton-hove.gov.uk

You’ll need to tell us:

  • what information you need, such as the type of document
  • the site address or application number
  • a description of the work
  • whether you want an email or hard copy
  • the address to which the document should be sent

A copy of a Building Regulations Completion Certificate costs £16.30.

A copy of a Building Regulations Approval costs £16.30

History search

Request a history search of a property by email to planning.applications@brighton-hove.gov.uk

You’ll need to tell us:

  • the site address
  • whether you want an email or hard copy
  • the address to send the document to

A building control history search costs £26.50.

Visit our payments page to pay your fees online.

  1. Look at the list of payment types on the left hand side of the page.
  2. Select 'Building Regulation no invoice’. 
  3. Complete the fields as instructed on the page.
