Apprenticeship salaries vary depending on who you work for, but you'll be paid at least the minimum wage rate. Many companies pay a lot higher than this, including us.

What you can earn as an apprentice at the council
The minimum you'll be paid during the first year of an Intermediate Level 2 apprenticeship is £8.60 an hour, which is £16,591.86 a year. From April 2025, this will rise to £10.00 an hour, or £19,292.86 a year.
The minimum you'll be paid during the first year of an Advanced or Higher Level apprenticeship (Level 3 and above) is £11.44 an hour, which is £22,071.03. From April 2025 this will rise to £12.21 an hour, or £23,556.58 a year.
Once you've completed the first year, the minimum you'll be paid is the national minimum wage for your age. This will not be any less than your starting salary.
