We’ve had an unexpected delay delivering visitor parking permits. If you need visitor parking permits, we recommend you apply for them as soon as you can to make sure you get them in time. We’re working to resolve this as fast as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience.
We’ve been working with the community to draw up a plan for homes, jobs, community facilities and improved public spaces.
This plan, known as a supplementary planning document, will guide future development in the area around Hove railway Station.
The redevelopment of the area offers a unique opportunity to address the climate emergency by showing what can be achieved when carbon neutrality is at the core of planning guidance.
We want your views to make sure the plan meets the needs of everyone living in the area and will achieve our ambitions to improve the environment.
Councillor Marianna Ebel, joint chair of the Tourism, Equalities, Communities & Culture Committee said: “We hope as many people as possible, especially those living and working in Hove, take part in this consultation so we get the best possible plan for the area. There is a fantastic opportunity to provide well-designed housing, improved community facilities and accessible public spaces.
“The guidance sets out ways that building and design can make the area more resilient to climate change and enhance biodiversity. This includes a low-carbon heat network, wildlife-friendly planting, and food growing opportunities.”
If you would like a printed copy of the document, please email HoveStationSPD@brighton-hove.gov.uk or write to Hove Station Area SPD Consultation, Brighton & Hove City Council, Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove, BN3 4BQ.
There are online public meetings on 11, 14 and 16 January 2021.
The closing date for comments is 7 February 2021.
Supplementary planning documents
Hove Station Area Masterplan is a supplementary planning document. Once it has been agreed, it will help guide developers when drawing up plans for individual sites. It will also be used by the council to guide decisions on planning applications for the area.
