About the New England House project
Opened in 1963 and located close to Brighton’s city centre, New England House has been described as the world’s first high rise industrial business centre. It is owned and run on a commercial basis by the council through managing agents.
The building offers 11,283 square metres of lettable floor space over 8 storeys, providing accommodation to over 100 small to medium enterprises, many from the Creative, Digital and Information Technology (CDIT) sector.
The building is aging and is in urgent need of refurbishment. The New England House project aims to refurbish the building’s façade and mechanical and electrical systems. It will also provide additional new floorspace to secure New England House’s future as the principal hub for the city’s CDIT sector.
