Project history

The site is allocated for housing in City Plan Part 2. It's being brought forward by Brighton & Hove City Council to provide some much-needed, affordable, council-rented homes.

An early round of community engagement took place in 2022, and helped to decide:

  • how the site might be developed
  • what the wider benefit to the local community might be

Architects, Mackellar Schwerdt Architects based in Lewes, and a design team have developed the design proposals considering the community feedback as well as planning policy, advice and guidance, making the best use of the site to provide good quality, sustainable and energy-efficient homes.

Early Planning advice and South East Design Panel Review also helped shape the design proposals.

The Planning application is currently under consideration.  Residents and stakeholders have an opportunity to view and comment on the plans.
