A poll to elect a ward councillor for Goldsmid will take place on Thursday 25 June 2026.
This vacancy was caused by the resignation of Councillor Jackie O'Quinn.
How to vote
At your polling station
Poll opening times are 7am to 10pm. Find out where your polling station is.
If you vote at the polling station, you must bring photo identification (ID).

By post
You don't need ID to vote by post. The deadline to apply for a postal vote is Wednesday, 10 June 2026, at 5pm.

Postal votes will be dispatched on Friday, 12 June.
Who can vote
To vote in these elections, you must be:
- registered to vote by Tuesday, 9 June 2026.
- a resident of Goldsmid ward or a registered Crown servant or service elector in respect of an address in the ward
- age 18 or over on polling day
Key dates and deadlines
- Tuesday 9 June – last day to register to vote
- Wednesday 10 June, 5pm:
- last day for us to receive your postal vote application
- last day to cancel your postal vote
- last day to change existing proxy arrangements
- Friday 12 June - postal votes will be dispatched
- Wednesday 17 June, 5pm:
- last day for us to receive new proxy vote applications
- last day for us to receive your Voter Authority Certificate application
- Friday 19 June – the first day to reissue replacement postal votes
- Thursday 25 June – polls open from 7am to 10pm
- Friday 26 June – ballot papers counted, with results expected in the afternoon
