Downs to the Sea: Recovery and resilience in wetland habitats for nature and people
Water and wetlands are vital for our environment and health. Yet the South East of England is water-stressed, and our wetlands are under increasing threat. A lack of access to, and understanding about, these vital habitats and resources is threatening the benefits they bring to us all.
Recovery and resilience, for nature and people, are needed now more than ever.
Downs to the Sea (DttS) will:
- help to restore and protect precious ponds, rivers and wetlands
- reach more diverse audiences in our community
- promote health and wellbeing
- develop people's skills and understanding of the landscape, especially the vital role that water plays in all our lives
