Shaping the city’s future together
Do you think you know how life in Brighton & Hove could be better? Do you want to be part of making our city a better place for everyone? Now is your chance to make your views heard.
‘Re-imagine Brighton & Hove’ is inviting everyone in the city to tell the council what they think.
Your ideas are important. We want to hear from as many as people as possible how we can tackle the issues which affect us all, every day. And to take an active part in helping make the city the best place it can be.
So please let us know what matters most to you, what affects you day-to-day as you live and work in the city, and how you think we can turn our Council Plan for 2023 to 2027 into reality.
We hope to look at as many topics as residents want. But first we are concentrating on some issues that have already been raised with us as important.
The first in a series of community meetings, on Tuesday 21 November, will talk about how we deal with graffiti tagging and instead encourage young people to help us make attractive street art.
The second meeting, on Monday 11 December, will discuss how the cost of living crisis is affecting us all and how we can work together to help each other.
The third, in January, will look at how we can make Brighton & Hove a safer city for women and girls.
The fourth, in February, will look at how we make Brighton & Hove healthier for all.

Tackling graffiti together
Kicking off Re-imagine Brighton & Hove is our session on graffiti tagging.
If you’re concerned about increasing graffiti tagging in our city, we’re keen to hear how we might ensure our streets and public spaces are attractive and well-maintained.
And how we might work with those young people who have a creative urge to make street art.
Join us from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday 21 November at Hove Town Hall Council Chambers, Norton Road, Hove, BN3 4AH.
Let us know you’re coming by emailing lucie.spicer@brighton-hove.gov.uk.
Coping with the cost of living crisis
At the session on the cost of living crisis we want to hear your ideas on how we can create a fairer and more inclusive city where everyone can thrive.
Join us from 6pm to 8pm on Monday 11 December at St Richard’s Church & Community Centre, Egmont Road, Hangleton, Hove, BN3 7FP.

Listening to residents
Councillor Bella Sankey, Leader of the Council, said: “We know that our residents are our greatest strength. We are launching our new project ‘Re-imagine Brighton & Hove’ so we can benefit from their experience, their ideas and their imagination.
“Re-imagine will give residents a direct say on our shared vision for our amazing city.
“We are a listening council and we need everyone on board to help tackle the challenges that are important to us all.
“Graffiti tagging, the cost of living, health and wellbeing and public safety are high priorities for us which is why these are the first issues we’ll all talk about at the series of workshops we have planned to hear your experiences, ideas and solutions.
“By working together, we want to re-imagine and deliver a better Brighton & Hove.”
Getting young people involved
Young people play a crucial role in re-imagining the city. And we're giving all young people aged 11 to 19 an opportunity to tell us what they think are the solutions to the challenges we face. We are asking them to design the future.
If you, your school or youth group, or a young person you know would like to get involved, send an email to lucie.spicer@brighton-hove.gov.uk.
Join us in shaping the future of our wonderful city, where your ideas matter and can make a real difference!
