About the Eastergate Road project
In June 2017, the Housing and New Homes Committee agreed to lease a small garage site next to the Housing Centre in Moulsecoomb to YMCA Downslink Group who wanted to develop self-contained, single person flats for local young people.
Planning permission for the scheme was granted in October 2020. YMCA DownsLink Group, a charity based in Hove, decided not to develop the site themselves and the council have now taken on the developer role as part of its New Homes for Neighbourhoods programme.
