Creating new open spaces

We know how important it is to have open spaces close to home that can be used by the whole family. A commitment to creating a beautiful, enduring and adaptable Moulsecoomb Community Hub alongside housing is integral to this regeneration project.

In creating the Moulsecoomb housing and community hub project, we are seeking to create a series of places that people will love, cherish, enjoy and use.

The newly created spaces will provide a mix of open/communal areas, as well as private and semi-private spaces for residents.

What we will provide

We propose to provide:

  • a breakout area/flexible event space in the form of a plaza comprising of seating and some play equipment
  • pocket parks incorporated throughout the scheme, giving rich external spaces with opportunities for play
  • small-sided 3G pitches
  • informal doorstep play for residents and visitors
  • space for outdoor fitness
  • informal play to encourage spontaneity
  • a street plaza with skate elements

Overall, the scheme has been carefully designed to respond to feedback from the Planning for Real engagement conducted during the first part of 2020.

We're now working with Maverick on the street plaza design.
