How to use your food waste caddy
Find out how to use your food waste caddies, and when we'll collect your food waste.
How to use your caddies if you have kerbside wheelie bins
- During the week put your food waste into your grey indoor kitchen caddy. If you want to, you can line your caddy with a compostable liner. Do not use plastic bags as these cannot be composted.
- Transfer food waste from your kitchen caddy to your outdoor caddy as often as you need to. If you are using liners, tie them closed once they're full.
- Make sure the outdoor caddy handle is upright to secure the lid and help make it rodent, animal and pest resistant.
- On your collection day place your outdoor caddy on or by the pavement in front of your property by 5am.
You should clean your caddies regularly, whether using a compostable liner or not. Your indoor kitchen caddy is dishwasher safe.
