What you can put in your food waste caddy
You can put most leftovers from meals, food that has gone past its use by date, and any other food waste from your kitchen in your caddy. This includes:
meat - raw and cooked including bones
fish/shellfish - raw and cooked, including bones and shells
eggs and egg products including eggshells
butter and cheese
bread, cakes and other baked goods
pasta and rice
beans and pulses
fruit - raw and cooked
salad and vegetables - raw and cooked
tea bags and coffee grounds
a small amount of pet food
a compostable caddy liner
What you can't put in your food waste caddy
Do not put any items in your caddy that are not food. This includes:
packaging and wrappings, even if compostable
coffee pods, even if biodegradable
cardboard and paper
foil and cling film
plastic film or plastic bags including bioplastics
garden waste
straw or other animal bedding
coffee filters
liquids including oil, milk, gravy, soup and yoghurt
