To help us check if you can get free school transport you need to tell us your child's:

  • full name
  • date of birth
  • main home address details
  • school name

To apply for free school transport you need:

  • your bank account or building society details (primary school applications)
  • your bus pass ID number (secondary school applications)
  • proof of maximum working tax credits, if you receive them

Application deadlines

Application for home to school transport September 2025

Application will be open from 1 March 2025 and the deadlines are as follows:

  • 30 April 2025 - if your child is under 16 years of age
  • 31 May 2025 - if your child is over 16 years of age
  • 31 May 2025 - if you're an adult learner, over 19 years of age with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)

Bus Pass Applications for September 2025

We are taking applications for bus passes from 1 May 2025.

If you send your bus pass application in after 29 August 2025, we will not process it until October 2025.
