We're aware of a national scam where people are asked to pay parking fines via text. We'll never text you to request a payment for a parking fine. We'll only contact you about parking fines via letter or email. If you have any doubts, contact the Parking Team.
Pay your Penalty Charge Notice (PCN)
How to pay your parking fine, bus lane fine, moving traffic fine and CCTV fine.
If you pay a Parking Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) within 14 days of it being issued, you’ll get a 50% discount.
If you pay a Bus Lane and CCTV Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) within 21 days of it being issued, you’ll get a 50% discount.
Pay your fine online
You cannot pay your parking fine through MyAccount or PayPoint.
Do not try to negotiate the price of your parking fine. We cannot change the fine amount over the phone.
To pay your fine online, you will need your:
- PCN number, this is on the notice you received, starting with the letters BH (if you do not have your PCN, you can contact us to obtain the number)
- vehicle registration number

Pay your fine by phone
We accept credit/debit card payments only.
To pay by phone, phone our automated payment line on 01273 296 622. We're open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Please have your card, vehicle registration and PCN number ready.
Pay your fine by post
We accept a cheque or a postal order payable to ‘Brighton & Hove City Council’.
Send the cheque or postal order to: Parking Services, G39 Hove Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove BN3 3BQ.
Please include the PCN number with your payment. Allow 2 working days for first class post and 5 working days for second class post.
What happens if you do not pay a PCN
If you do not pay or appeal a PCN within 28 days from when you received it, the 50% reduced charge no longer applies. The PCN will continue to follow the statutory process.
