Welcome to Brighton & Hove City Council's Building Safety Plan
This plan is about keeping people safe in tall buildings.
We want everyone who lives in, visits, or works in our buildings to be safe.
This plan follows the new Building Safety Act from 2022.

This plan explains:
The Building Safety Act 2022 makes new rules for tall buildings
Tall buildings are at least 18 meters high or have 7 or more floors.
These buildings must have at least 2 flats.
Brighton & Hove City Council has chosen the Head of Housing Investment & Asset Management to be in charge of building safety.
His name is Geofrey.
Geofrey's Job is to:
3. Make sure the building is registered and safe.
4. Put up information about building safety where everyone can see it.
5. Keep all safety information up to date and easy to understand.
6. Report any serious safety problems.
The law says we must have a plan to talk to residents about safety.
This plan is for people over 16 who live in or own a flat in the building.
We want to tell residents about safety and listen to their ideas.
How we will talk to residents about safety.
How residents can help make decisions about safety.
How we will make sure everyone understands about building safety.
