Before you apply
Make sure you have the documents you need before you start your application.
Check you can apply
To make sure you're eligible to apply, check who can apply for school and nursery parking permits.
Check that the school is Ofsted registered.
If the school is an independent school, check it's ISI (Independent School Inspectorate) registered.

What you'll need to apply
Letter of approval
You need to provide a letter from the headteacher of your school or the manager of your nursery.
This letter must:
- list the teaching staff or nursery workers employed - this must show their job title
- confirm the number of teaching or nursery staff
- be on headed paper
- be signed by the head teacher or nursery manager
- be dated within the last 3 months
Active Travel Plan
You need to complete an Active Travel Plan.
Apply online for school and nursery parking permits
You cannot renew a school and nursery parking permit. If you need a new permit start a new application.
