We're aware of a national scam where people are asked to pay parking fines via text. We'll never text you to request a payment for a parking fine. We'll only contact you about parking fines via letter or email. If you have any doubts, contact the Parking Team.
I have a residents permit
Although you may have a resident’s permit, this does not exempt you from parking in a suspended bay or space. You should ensure you check the signs before parking your vehicle and then leaving it unattended. The times the bay is enforced from and till is stated on the notice.
If you feel you have sufficient grounds for appeal, then you must provide supporting evidence of your claims.
Please be aware that you are not guaranteed to have your PCN cancelled as each case is judged on its merits.
Alternatively, if you pay your PCN within 14 days of the date of your ticket, you pay the lower amount shown on your ticket or letter. If you pay after 14 days, you pay the original penalty charge on the notice.
There was no sign
When a suspended bay is due to take place, notices are placed on the signs in advanced to warn motorists. Photos are taken when they are put up. When a CEO issues a PCN they will also take photos of the signs. Please check the evidence supplied by the CEO before you appeal a PCN.
If you have checked the evidence presented and you still want to appeal, then you can do so online or by writing to us.

My vehicle had broken down
When a suspended bay is due to take place, the CEO will record all vehicles parked in the bay before the signs are placed.
If your vehicle has broken down, and you were unable to move it you will need to provide us with a copy of your receipt from either the recovery service provider or garage, within 14 days of receiving your Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
