We're aware of a national scam where people are asked to pay parking fines via text. We'll never text you to request a payment for a parking fine. We'll only contact you about parking fines via letter or email. If you have any doubts, contact the Parking Team.
I have a blue badge
In order to park in a disabled bay, you must be clearly displaying your blue badge so that all the details can be checked. If you feel you have mitigating circumstances that led to this issue of this PCN you can appeal your penalty charge notice.
Please provide a clear picture of your blue badge so that all the details can be checked.
Please be aware that you are not guaranteed to have your Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) cancelled as each case is judged on its merits.
Alternatively, if you pay your PCN within 14 days of the date of your ticket, you pay the lower amount shown on your ticket or letter. If you pay after 14 days, you pay the original penalty charge on the notice.
There were no parking spaces available
To park in a disabled bay, you must be displaying a valid blue badge. If there are no parking spaces available, you should look for spaces in neighbouring streets.
You are liable for the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
If you pay your PCN within 14 days of the date of your ticket, you pay the lower amount shown on your ticket or letter. If you pay after 14 days, you pay the original penalty charge on the notice.
I have a residents permit
Although you may have a residents permit this does not allow you to park in a disabled bay. You are only permitted to park in Permit holders only spaces or shared use pay and display / permit holder bays. You should check the signs before parking your vehicle.
You are liable for the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
If you pay your PCN within 14 days of the date of your ticket, you pay the lower amount shown on your ticket or letter. If you pay after 14 days, you pay the original penalty charge on the notice.
My vehicle had broken down
If your vehicle has broken down, you are expected to remain with your vehicle until you have arranged for recovery.
You will need to provide us with a copy of your receipt from either the recovery service provider or garage, within 14 days of receiving your Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
Please be aware that you are not guaranteed to have your PCN cancelled as each case is judged on its merits.
