Find out about the Brighton & Hove Economic Growth Board, and apply to join as a member.
Brighton & Hove City Council are working with our business community to establish a new Growth Board to align with the Economic Plan that has been developed for our city, providing a common goal and purpose that partners and stakeholders can work towards.
The Growth Board is an evolution from the existing Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership (BHEP) and is intended to become the primary voice of business to inform the strategic economic growth narrative for Brighton & Hove and beyond. It seeks to build on the work of the BHEP, bringing business voices together on a voluntary basis to support the economic development of the city and sub-region.
The Vision for the Growth Board focuses on helping to embed a strong and diverse business voice and play a key role in the delivery and implementation of our Economic Plan, including:
The Growth Board will meet on a quarterly basis to deliver the Vision as set out above.
We are publically seeking an additional 8 business leaders to apply to join the Board, with applications due to close on 18 April 2025.
This is a voluntary role, with a time commitment of 2 hours per quarterly meeting plus some additional preparation time. We are looking for those that are able to disseminate information through their existing business networks to maximise the reach of the Board.
A diversity of voices is sought to join the Board to reflect the diversity and inclusivity of Brighton & Hove, as well as the city’s business community. We are looking for influential businesspeople, ideally with executive experience in business at a senior level or have experience in alternative entrepreneurial leadership roles, as well as representatives from key sectors of the city’s economy, including financial services, creative, cultural and digital industries and the visitor economy.
We particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups including women, ethnic minority, LGBTQ+ and disabled business leaders.
