Apply for a petroleum storage certificate
Find out what a petroleum storage certificate is, how much it costs and how to apply.
What a petroleum storage certificate is
Under the Petroleum (Consolidation) Regulations 2014, to store petroleum, you must apply for a petroleum storage certificate.
You'll need to apply through Trading Standards as we are the Petroleum Enforcement Authority in Brighton & Hove. We're responsible for ensuring safety at sites where petrol is delivered, stored and dispensed.
To approve a petroleum storage certificate, our team must be satisfied with the storage of petroleum at your site and that precautions have been taken to minimise the risks presented by any storage of petroleum.
