Who can get a resident parking permit
Find out who can and can't apply for a resident parking permit.
Who can apply
You can apply for a resident parking permit for the parking zone you live in if you:
live in that parking zone at least 5 nights a week
live at the address at the time you apply
You'll need to provide proof of these when you apply for a permit.
You can only apply for one resident parking permit per person. However, there is no limit on the number of residents who can apply in any one household.
Who can't apply
You're not eligible for a resident parking permit if you:
live in a car-free development
have a vehicle which weighs more than 2,540kg, is over 2.25m tall or is over 6m long
are a landlord, property owner or do not live at the application address at least 5 nights a week. This includes second homeowners and residents who have not yet moved to the property.
Part-time residents and occasional vehicle use
If you only need to park a vehicle at the address occasionally, for example if you use someone else’s car or hire a vehicle – you may want to buy visitor parking permits. These are single night permits you can use as and when you need them.
