Do I need listed building consent?
Listed building consent is required for all works to demolish, alter or extend a listed building. These works may also require planning permission. Listed building consent is also required for repairs which are not exactly like for like, and internal alterations if they affect the character and/or significance of the building. For example, listed building consent would be required for replacing windows (including a change from single to double glazing), replacement of a fireplace, extensive rebuilding, extension to the building and undertaking damp proofing. There is no fee for listed building consent.
