Find and comment on planning applications

Search the Planning Register to find and comment on current planning applications and view details of historic applications. The register does not currently include applications made under the Permission in Principle legislation.

About the Planning Register

Our online Planning Register allows residents, businesses and developers to comment on and view planning applications.

You can:

  • find out about planning applications near to your homes and business
  • get involved with planning decision-making
  • track the progress of your own planning applications
  • ‘personalise’ information by setting up alerts to let you know when comments are submitted or a decision has been taken
  • look up information about where planning applications are using a map of the area
  • track changes for the ones you are interested in

You can also look for particular types of application such as’ change of use’ and view details of the agents submitting applications.

Log in or register for an account

This account is not connected to MyAccount. If you have a MyAccount you’ll still need to register for a new account to use the Planning Register.

You can use the same email address and password as your MyAccount to register your new account with the Planning Register.

If you can not register or sign into your account, send us an email with details of the problem. 

We'll respond to your email on weekdays during office hours.  

Planning application comments 

If you can not access our register to comment on an application, you can submit your comments either:

  • in writing to the Planning and Building Control Service
  • by email

More information about Planning applications

You must include your full name and postal address so that we can contact you if the applicant makes a planning appeal. Comments submitted without this information will not be recorded on the register for the case officer to review.

We do not reply to the comments we receive.

When we receive a large number of comments, there may be delays in uploading them to the planning register. However, all comments will be uploaded in good time for the case officer to consider them when they are preparing their reports and recommendations for the Planning Committee.
