Purposes and lawful basis of processing
We are collecting your data for the purpose of issuing, refusing, or revoking storage licences. Data collected in this application form may be used for investigations and enforcement action, as well as carrying out inspections. We may also need to use your contact details for communication purposes in connection to your storage licence.
Our lawful basis for collecting and processing your personal data is under legal obligation, specifically within the Explosives Regulations 2014. Special category data is collected because there is a substantial public interest, specifically relating to the Data Protection Act 2018, Schedule 1, Part 2, Paragraph 6, 'Statutory etc. and government purposes’.
Who we will share your data with
Your data may be shared internally with the Emergency Planning & Resilience Team. We may also share your data externally with the police and East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service.
How long we will hold your data (retention)
We will hold your data for six years from the date the licence was applied for. If an offence has occurred and your licence has been revoked we will keep your data for three years from the date of the revocation.
Transferring data outside the European Economic Area
Your information is not processed outside of the European Economic Area.

Under GDPR you have certain rights concerning your information.
We aim to resolve all complaints about how we handle personal information. You also have the right to make a complaint about data protection to the Information Commissioner's Office.
